My Sport

@ Badminton @

Badminton is a game similar to tennis, using rackets to strike a shuttlecock back and forth across a high net. This game means a lot to me. It becomes an immense part of me. This game is my preferred sport. That is not all. In this entry, you can read how the badminton became an element of me.
At first, this game is “just” a game for me. It all happened when my brother started to attend trainings for badminton. He was also a badminton player and a competitor in his former school. In his trainings and practices, I am always nearby. I always watch him and scrutinize how the game was played. Time pass by, I started to be in the vein of the sport. The very first time I held a badminton racket, I still do not have knowledge how to use it. I just wave it in dissimilar directions. Then I became fascinated about it. I constantly asked my kuya to instruct me how but he was always busy preparing and practicing for the tournaments, he will take part. I learned it myself because I know how to observe. I was still five or six years old at that point in time. I asked my parents to obtain me my own racket. After those events, I started playing badminton.
That is not all. It really distorted my entire life. Back when I am still in grade four, I was a fat girl or should I say “chubby”. Many of my cousins and classmates tease me and made fun of me. That is the main motive why I am always involved in many arguments and conflicts. I am always upset at that time. I thought of many ways to reduce my heaviness until I remembered my most wanted sport. At that time, I am planning to join the badminton players and become skilled more about my favorite sport. Therefore, I did join. Join the trainings every afternoon. The good thing is the coach in our school is the same as my kuya’s trainer. Hence, it is not hard on my side because I previously know the trainer. Back to the topic, those training contain different activities like jogging, stretching, footwork and more. Because of the trainings every afternoon, my weight reduced. I realized that this is the excellent way. I continue those practices. That is the main reason why I achieve my current size. I am no longer fat nor chubby at this time.
Many people who knew my former size will be bewildered and ask me if how I achieved my size in a very short time. Some will say if I had my diet or whatever things they can think of.
Until now, I am still playing badminton. In fact, I just participated in our Intramurals in the University of the
Philippines in Cebu last November 2006. Nevertheless, unfortunately, our team got only the third place. Well, its just a game and there is no reason to be disappointed very deeply.
Thanks for the badminton. Badminton will remain the “best sport” ever for me. Badminton is the only game, which my kuya and me play mutually.
That is all for now. Thanks for reading my entry. Have a nice day!
