Awardee...

@An Achiever@

Being an achiever when still a child is already a stepping stone to have a good future when you grow up. These serve as your capital in investing for your future life.

Since, I was young; I already got medals and ribbons. O started earning those when I am still three (3) years of age. I got a medal because I am the consistent 1st honor student since first grading to fourth grading. I also got different ribbons like Most Friendly, Best in Science, Most Punctual and more. I was still Nursery at that time. Next is when I am already in Kinder 1. I am again recognized as the 1st honor student. Just like in the Nursery, I was also able to get different ribbons and wards. In the next level, Kinder 2, I graduated as the valedictorian in our batch. I receive more than 5 medals at that time. It was pretty funny because after going to stage my name is again mentioned for another award. Of course, ribbons are always present.

Now, I am ready to face a new challenge. I am already Grade 1; I just got the 5th honor. At that time, I was not interested in studying because of my classmates and because my mother is not around at that time. Grade 2 comes; I am a consistent 5th honor again. Then I already improved the next year. I became the 4th honor and so when I am in Grade 4. In Grade 5, I was really shocked because I ranked the 2nd honor, but unfortunately, I was not able to maintain it. At this time I am also starting to join different contests. In fact, I joined a Science Quiz Bowl and got the 3rd place. Extra curricular activities were really a big part of my grade. I already improved again and ranked 3rd honor in our class. In the next year, Grade 6, there I already became very active in extra curricular activities. I joined Essay Contest in a District Meet and won the 1st place. So I proceeded to the Division Meet but I was not able to win or just have a place. In Conference, I was the one who participated in the fields of Sport writing in English. There are many schools which are really hard to beat so again I did not have any award but at least was able to participate.

The contest which is really memorable to me is the Search for Model GSP and BSP of Cebu City. I already planned to join that contest since I was in Grade 5. At first, they were many representatives from our school. There are maybe 4 participants from the Grade 5 pupils and only two from the Grade 6: Glacy and I. It was a pretty hard contest. It was done through an interview not in a room but in front of all participants and judges. After the contest, I and my co-participants from our school already told our mentors not to expect any award because we were not able to perform that good. But the Grade 5 pupils interrupted and raid to our teacher that among all Talamban participants, I talked the interviewers most. However, I did not expect any, because I know that it is already too impossible. Two weeks later, my adviser approached me and told me that I made it to the 4th place. I was awarded as the GSP of the year 2005-2006. It was really a big achievement of me because the Awardees for the Search for the Model GSP and BSP were placed in an article in a newspaper. I was there… It was the greatest achievement for me…
